
Joel C. Marrs, PharmD, MPH., BCACP, BCCP, BCPS, FAHA, FASHP, FCCP, FNLA
Dr. Marrs is a Full Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy. He earned his PharmD from Butler University and MPH from the University of Colorado. He completed a PGY1 residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center and a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at the University of Colorado. He currently practices as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist specialist with the Ascension Medical Group-Tennessee at the St Thomas Lenox Village Clinic. He has 20 years of pharmacy faculty and clinical pharmacy practice experience in ambulatory care, with a focus on cardiology & cardiometabolic diseases. He is a Board Certified in Ambulatory Care, Cardiology, and Pharmacotherapy. He is a clinical lipid specialist designated by ABCL. His research interests are focused on the prevention and management of endocrine and cardiovascular disease and patient centered outcomes research.
